Stephen Hawking Invites You To His Time Travel Party

Stephen Hawking Invites You To His Time Travel Party In June 2009, Prof. Stephen Hawking held a party at the University of Cambridge. He waited for a long time in a room filled with champagnes, decorations and food. But no one showed up. Why would anyone miss a party that’s hosted by one of most renowned physicists living today? It’s because he didn’t tell anyone about the party until it was over. After the day of the party he printed invitations for all the time travellers of the future. In fact, the invitation is still open. If you have the ability to travel back in time, you could still make it to the party. But I said, no one showed up to the party, right? If someone in the future had access to a time machine and went back to the party, we would have heard about it? Which means … actually, it could mean a lot of things.

This is the oldest time travel paradox. If time travel at some point in the future becomes a reality, if it is in fact possible, then why is our history not filled with examples of that? This could mean a pair of jeans from pre historic era, or a photo of a person with a Samsung Galaxy in 1948. Why does everything seem normal? This is essentially the same question as why did no one show up to Prof. Hawking’s party? Daily Mail UK in July 2012 ran an article about this time traveller’s party, which listed all the possible reasons for which no one showed up to the event. The article only had a list of the reasons. But today, we are going to look at all the reasons and discuss them one by one, in detail.

I also have couple more reasons that were not listed in the article. Reason number 1: Time Travel is not possible. This is the most disappointing reason of them all. It means that all those time travel books and movies were just a dream. One of the reasons why time travel is so fascinating is that the fact that‘s such a wild theory is even remotely possible. In a way, we are all travelling through time at a rate of 1 second per second. Actually, Einstein’s theory of special relativity proves that time travel to the future is possible when you travel closer to the speed of light. But, what about the past? How would you travel to the past and attend Prof.

Hawking’s party? Well, there’s always Wormholes. Even Stephen Hawking himself believes that travelling to the past through enlarged wormhole is in fact, theoretically possible. There’s also a scene in Interstellar, which explained it pretty simply. “Let me show you how it works.” “They say, you wanna go from here to there. But it is too far, right?” “Hmm mmm” “So, wormholes bend space like this, so you can take a short cut through higher dimension. Ok, to show that they turn three-dimensional space into two dimensions, which turns a wormhole into two dimensions, a circle. What’s a circle in a three dimension?” “Sphere” “Exactly!” But the problem is, to manipulate a wormhole into creating a passage through time, requires immense amount of energy, energy equivalent to that of an exploding star. There’s not even a foreseeable future where humanity could harness such a massive amount of energy. Climate change, wars, pollution, anything could kill us before reaching that stage.

So maybe humanity will be extinct before even getting to a point in time where time travel is possible. Even if we manage to survive; there are a number of problems associated with travelling through wormholes including severe radiations, sudden collapse and contact with dangerous and exotic matter Reason number 2: It is only possible to move forwards in time and not backwards. This could be a perfectly good reason as we can very easily imagine a futuristic pod, which travels closer to the speed of light resulting in a jump into the future. Actually, we have someone among us who is already a time traveller. Russian Cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev has spent more time in orbit around the earth than anyone else in the world. 803 days, 9hours and 39 minutes. Due to the effect of time dilation, pointed out in Einstein’s theory of Special Relativity, he travelled .02 seconds into his own future.

So, travelling to the future seems to be very possible than travelling to the past. Reason Number 3: Time Travel can only occur from the date; a time travel machine is first switched on: It is a simple statement, but it can be pretty hard to explain. Because we would need to know what kind of time travelling machine is it in the first place. What is its principle to travel through time? But it is definitely a valid probable reason for no one showing up to the party. Reason No. 4: Time travel is possible, but no one figures out how to do it or they are simply too responsible to use it. This is a bit wild, but I can see how it made the list. As I discussed earlier, it is possible for humanity to go extinct even before we figure out a way to travel back and forth through time.

I can also equally imagine a scientist, coming up with a perfect time machine but then gets too scared about the implications. Have you ever heard about Grandfather paradox? It involves going back in time, killing your grandfather before he even meets your grandmother. If he dies, you wouldn’t even be born. So what does it do to you? And who goes back in time in the first place? Or who even invents the time machine? You can imagine how it is scary meddling with the laws of the nature Reason Number 5: We are in the original universe, before the travellers start meddling with the timeline. This is where the ‘Many Worlds Interpretation’ comes into play.

Many Worlds Interpretation implies that all possible alternate histories and futures are equally real, each having their own world. It states that there are infinite number of universes and everything that could have happened in our own past, but didn’t, is part of some other universe’s past. Probably, in one universe, dinosaurs are not extinct. In another universe Nazi Germany won the war and in another universe British Empire is still ruling India. So, in our timeline, nobody visited Prof Hawking’s party. But in another parallel universe, a group of time travellers showed up and it was a night filled with wonder and scientific achievement. Reason Number 6: The Invitation and all the evidence of the party was ruined: Something happened, we don’t have any of the printed invitations circling around, the Internet some how lost all the evidence of the fact that there was indeed a time traveller’s party, including this video.

So, the time travellers don’t even know that the party was happening? But they could coincidentally travel back to a time where evidence of the party was still there, like, right now, and then learn about Hawking’s party and then went further back to attend the party in 2009. But chances are slim. Reason Number 7: Hawking is lying If Stephen Hawking was alone and waited for the time travellers to show up to the party and then when they finally did, he somehow killed every single one of them and lied about no one showing up to the party and to this date, continues to lie about the time travellers.

Ok, I’m only joking. What would be the point of that? So, if you are some one in the future, watching this video which is the only thing you manage to salvage from the internet and you are just learning about Professor Stephen Hawking’s party, then I assure you that he is a really good guy and he is someone who is worth talking to, and he is a motivation for millions of people around the world. Also, The image of Stephen Hawking sitting all alone, in a room filled with champagnes and decorations, waiting eagerly for the time travellers to show up, is just too sad and optimistic at the same time. So get into your machine and go back to 2009. Here are the coordinates because Professor Stephen Hawking Cordially Invites You To His Time Traveller’s Party. What are your thoughts about time travel? Did I leave any other means of travelling through time? I would love to hear from you about time travel in the comments below.

Time travel is a massive concept. I have included some sources and reading materials in the description for you to check out. I might do a couple more videos in the future about other aspects of time travel. As usual, if you enjoyed this video, leave a like, share it with your friends so that new viewers could find this channel and most importantly, subscribe to this channel, if you haven’t already and don’t forget to hit the bell button to turn the notification on, so that you would be updated whenever I post a new video which would be every week. Package Thief vs. Glitter Bomb Trap

Package Thief vs. Glitter Bomb Trap This guy took a package from my porch and now he’s about to open it in his car But what he doesn’t know is this is a custom-built bait package that is recording him on four different cameras And it’s about to unleash a pound of the world’s finest glitter along with some other surprises. But I understand how he got to this point first. We need to rewind a bit. About seven months ago, I noticed a package being reported as delivered but it never arrived So when I checked our security cameras, I noticed this lovely couple out for a stroll. As you can see, they have backpacks on and they’re just going around the neighborhood making an afternoon out of this. If you ever been in a situation like this, you just sort of feel violated. And then I took this to the police and even with the video evidence, they said it’s just not worth their time to look into – so then you also feel powerless and I just felt like something needs to be done to take a stand against dishonest punks like this.

And then I was like: hold up, I built a dartboard that moves to get a bull’s-eye every time. I spent nine years designing hardware that’s currently roving around on another freaking planet. if anyone was going to make a revenge bait package and over-engineer the crap out of it, it was going to be me. So I started with a sketch and some CAD and then I hit up my buddy Sean who is really good with this type of small electronic stuff, and we got to work. Ultimately, when they open the package I just wanted to celebrate their choice of profession with a cloud of glitter because, I mean, who doesn’t love glitter? That’s easy. I could just do that passively with like a spring when it opens But I also wanted to record their reaction and that’s what makes the engineering here an order of magnitude more difficult because if you think about it This thing has to sit on a porch all day and it can’t be plugged in and you have no idea when someone will come And pick this up so it’s not like you could just hit record on the camera and then put it in the box because you’re gonna run out of battery and storage space on top of that I need some way to recover this footage in case I never get the big package back so after six months and lots of design Iterations and so much testing here’s where we landed This custom printed circuit board is the brains of the operation It has a built-in accelerometer And when it’s jostle that will check the GPS signal to see if it’s been moved from the porch and if so It sends a signal to all the phones to wake up and start recording and I’m using four phones that have a wide-angle Filming mode and are angled back and this 3d printed portion is contoured this way because it represents the field of view of the phones So as you can see I’m guaranteed to capture their reaction no matter which way they open it from and nestled in here We’ve got a can of fart spray.

No joke, you can clear a room with one spray of this stuff so we made a cam on a small motor that sprays it five times and not only is this just a nice touch but we Keep repeating five sprays every 30 seconds until they throw the package out of their car or house Before they realize there’s four phones inside this Increases our chances of finding it because we always know the package location at all times due to the GPS on the phones But even if we don’t recover it all four phones have LTE data plans So they upload the footage to the cloud so I can still see what happened And then for the pièce de résistance we have a cup here on top that spins from a motor underneath So once you load in a but ton of the world’s finest glitter the motor spins really fast and the centrifugal force Fires it evenly in all directions. Let me cut holes on the side of the lid and cover them with one-way film so two of the cameras can see them as they walked away and then finally to make it look like an actual delivered package we Added some shrink wrap and a delivery label Which is perhaps my favorite part of the whole thing because if the thief wasn’t in such a hurry They’d see that the package is actually coming from my childhood hero and inspiration for this project Kevin McCallister.

I Even looked up and amusing the address of the actual house They filmed the movie in and of course it’s being shipped to his boys Harry and Marv and there’s a charge port in the bottom because if it doesn’t get stolen in a given day I can bring it In and then recharge all the batteries in the system overnight So the idea is the bad guy comes and takes it off your porch then lifts the lid and these two limit switches Tell the circuit board brain inside that the lids been removed and then that sets everything in motion and I may be biased but sometimes a well engineered design is beautiful And because the phones have GPS we created a virtual geo fence around my house So I get a notification when the package has been moved off the property So I put it out on the porch and now all that was left to do was wait Okay, so I was at work and I got a notification that the Geo fence we set up had been tripped So then I checked the cameras and sure enough.

The package is gone So I checked the GPS and sort of tracked it and it appears there in a car because they seem to leave my house Pretty quickly, but it seems to have stopped in a parking garage Which is where I’m headed to now and if you’re new here, this isn’t a prank channel So I am completely out of my comfort zone And there she is This is like recovering the black box of a crashed airplane it would still work even if I didn’t get the box back that footage would upload to the cloud but it’s just faster to plug the phones in so I’m gonna go home and find out how this Somehow ended up here.

So it appears he was walking down the sidewalk and then suddenly makes a hard left Then he takes the package and gets in his car and eventually makes it to this parking garage where this glorious sequence unfolds My car dude everything oh my god My friend Cece has also had some packages stolen so she has to leave it on her porch for a few days to So the moral of the story is just don’t take other people’s stuff Not only is it not cool, but on the plus side, you’ll never find yourself in this situation or perhaps even worse this one Who you had? This video was all about protecting your packages from bad guys with this six-month over-engineered monstrosity, but lucky for you It’s way easier to protect yourself from online bad guys Thanks to the fine folks at Nord VPN who also happened to be supporting this video as you know VPN stands for virtual private network so you could surf the web anonymously your Location stays private and your data is encrypted and even though I’m not a bad guy with something to hide I generate a spinning glitter cup of data online every day which I would prefer not to be used against me like you reading a lot of the news stories lately and as a bonus if You ever get a message about a video not being available in your country technically Which is the click of a mouse your computer can virtually teleport to any country you want cry an or view P n is the best because they’re super fast with Thousands of servers across the globe and they also have Apple and Android apps for mobile browsing which are free with your account So if you travel internationally or give in today’s headlines, you’re ready to start taking your privacy more seriously You can go to Noor VPN comm slash mark Grover or use the link in the video description for 75% off their three year plans So, it’s Nord VPN comm slash mark Grover And if you use the code marker over at checkout, they’ll know I sent you and they’ll give you an extra month free Thanks for watching

Is the Google Pixel Worth It?

Is the Google Pixel Worth It? – Hey guys, this is Austin. Is the new Google Pixel worth it? Wow! On top of the standard white and black colors, there’s also very blue and you know what, they’re not kidding. That is very, very blue. So my first impression is that this kind of looks like an iPod Touch. So you’ve got the white front. You’ve got the fairly large sort of iPhone, iPod like bezel from the front and then around back you get that stupidly bright blue color. You know, I kind of dig it.

So we get a SIM tool and some paperwork. You know what, I was about to throw all this paperwork away, but you actually get three free months of Google Play Music with YouTube Red, so if you guys haven’t tried YouTube Red yet, give it a try, three months. Now that’s actually a nice little touch that they’ve got the power brick matching the very blue phone. That’s cool. I appreciate that. Next, we have the Google Pixel XL. So you can think of this as the bigger brother to the normal Pixel. So it’s pretty much the same way that there’s the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. It’s essentially the same phone, but you’re gonna get a couple small upgrades, like a bigger screen and you’re also getting a bigger battery. However, if you pull it out of the box, you see that it looks basically the same. Not exactly a bad thing, though. This is a very interesting design. At first glance it looks super, I don’t want to say generic, but very forgettable, I guess. However, when you look around back, you get this giant window. So it’s kind of color coded so you can see this one’s white.

This one’s sort of a lighter blue. But what they’re doing here is something kind of interesting. There’s actually a taper. So at the bottom of the phone, it’s much thinner than it is at the top and I think they do that to keep you from having camera hump. I will say the white front isn’t super flattering to the Pixel. So this is a phone with large bezels. Now it’s not crazy. It’s about the same size as what you would get on the iPhone, however there at least you’re getting an actual home button. Here, this is literally just wasted space. I feel they could have put a speaker or something or just gotten rid of it altogether. I kind of like the idea of having the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone.

I feel like while it makes sense to be on the home button, it’s kind of a little more convenient. I mean, if it’s sitting on the table, it’s a little bit difficult to kind of unlock the phone, but most of the time, it’s sitting in your hand. Your finger’s already there, so I’m a big fan. There’s some nice touches with the hardware here. The power button actually has a satisfying click and it’s textured, so even if it’s in your pocket, you can pull it out and quickly know which button you’re pressing. And the whole phone feels very sturdy.

It might not be the most unique piece of hardware I’ve ever seen, but this definitely feels like a premium device. The issue is there are $400 phones that feel just as premium and this is a whole lot more. So the Pixels are expensive and that’s an interesting strategy because I feel like one of the most popular Nexus’s of all-time, the Nexus 5, really was so huge because it was a great phone at a budget price. These are not budget at all. So you’re talking about over $600 for the Pixel and over $700 for the Pixel XL and that’s with 32GB of storage. You can bump these things up to 128 for another $100. They had better be good for that price. So after playing with the Pixel phones for a while, the first thing that jumps out to me is the performance. These things are fast. So inside you’re getting the standard high-end Android stuff. You’ve got a Snapdragon 821, 4GB of RAM. It’s a speedy phone on paper and if you look at the benchmarks, it might not quite match up to the iPhone 7, however, it’s definitely up there. The thing that jumps out to me though, is that it actually feels fast.

So if you look at something like the Galaxy S7, which on paper is very similar, there’s a little bit of lag. It’s not quite as responsive as something like the Pixel, which really seems like Google spent the time to optimize it and make it really as fast as possible. Something else that’s been impressive is the battery life. So I spent most of my time with the regular Pixel and even though it has a smaller battery than the XL, it’s actually held up really well. I’ve been able to make it through a full day, no problem.

The software experience is nice and clean, though. So if you get the Verizon model, you will find a couple extra apps, however, they’re all totally uninstallable. Bottom line, if you get a Pixel, you should expect a very, very clean build of Android. These guys are also rocking great screens. So the regular Pixel has a five inch AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution. With the XL bumps that up to 5.5 inches and 1440p. They’re both great displays. The biggest difference really is that resolution for VR. So if you get into Google Daydream, which is the big, new Google VR intitiative, you’re gonna see that while 1080p looks fine as a normal phone, the 1440p’s going to look a lot better when you strap a VR headset on. However, unless you’re really into VR, you’re really not gonna tell a major difference. Both phones are nice and sharp. I generally do like the hardware of the Pixel, however, my biggest issue is the lack of waterproofing, which is something you’ll find on the iPhone and S7.

However, my buddy Jon actually did a full water test and it actually didn’t do too badly. However, between the lack of water resistance and all the glass all over the place, it might be a little fragile and that’s where my friends at RhinoShield come in. So when they reached out and wanted to sponsor a video, I was totally down. I usually don’t like to do drop tests, however this thing is a little special. It might not look like much, however, this simple bumper is going to give us some serious protection. So not only does it have a lip to cover both the front and rear, but it also has a custom material and a honeycomb built inside which means that in theory, this should survive an 11 foot drop test. So to put the Pixel to the test, it’s time for drop test.

So this is about 10 feet or so I’d say, onto solid concrete. So in three, two, one. (thud) Ohhhh! (thud) Alright. Oh, it’s still even recording. I mean, it’s a little dirty from the floor, but honestly, I think it’s fine. Screen still works. Yeah. Totally good. So this thing is no joke. Now on top of it being available for the Pixel XL, you can also get the RhinoShield for something like an iPhone, Galaxy S7, OnePlus 3. It’s pretty legit. Alright, so I’m curious about the cameras on the Pixel, so I have my good buddy Lamarr here and he was lucky enough to bring his car, so we’re gonna use that as the first camera sample.

– Because I can clearly fit in it. – That’s a thing right there. Glad you’re rolling in style today. So from what I’ve heard, what they’re doing is it’s constantly taking pictures, like non-stop RAW, and when you hit the shutter button, it just takes that frame and then goes and grabs a couple, merges it in HDR, so you pretty much always are taking shots. – So it’s processing in the background as you’re taking the shots? – Exactly. – So when you hit the shutter button, all it’s saying is hey look, this is the point where I actually want to save.

So that’s why it’s like immediately taking stuff. So something interesting about the Pixels, is that they shoot 4K with supposedly some really good stabilization. Okay, we are now recording on the Pixel. Ken looking like a mild cyborg. – Hi! – That’s a little too crispy. – Yeah, that’s too crispy. – Actually, this looks really nice. – You’re gonna see all the parts I missed for shaving. This is not good. – It’s okay. Well we’ll come up here. Dude, this actually looks really nice. There’s like some actual depth of field. Like those trees behind you look really nice. So one thing with the Pixel phones is that unlike the iPhone where you actually get a pretty major difference between the Plus and normal 7, these cameras are completely identical. The camera app is a lot better here. I never really liked the normal Google camera apps. Hi Mom. – Your mom watches this. – She watches you. – Does she really? – Yeah, she does. – I am– – It’s hard not to watch you. – Famous.

– Subscribe to youtube.com/wilsontech1. – That’s not the, I swear to God. – The most important thing though, how does it selfie? – Oh that looks good. – No, this is actually really nice. And you can see the HDR, it’s like pulling some of the highlight detail from the trees. So is the Google Pixel worth it? Sort of. Sure, it would be nice if it had a little bit more of a distinctive design with less bezel and waterproofing would be nice, however, honestly there’s really not a lot to complain about.

I think it’s easy to say that this is the best Android phone out there and honestly, it can really hang right with the iPhone. So if you’re looking for a super awesome, dope, legit, ridiculously solid, incredibly impressive, magical, phenomenal, terrific phone (laughing) (people shouting in background) So what do you guys think about the Google Pixel? Definitely be sure to let me know in the comments below and if you want to see more videos like this, definitely be sure to subscribe to the channel.

Anyway guys, thank you so much for watching and I will catch you in the next one. .
